(CLO) Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology that can control web browsers to complete tasks such as searching for information and shopping, according to a report by The Information on Saturday.
The project, codenamed “Project Jarvis,” is expected to be released in December alongside the latest version of its large language model, Gemini 2.0. With Jarvis, users can assign complex tasks that previously required manual manipulation to the AI technology, such as analyzing information and completing online tasks.

Designed to run on the Chrome browser, Jarvis can continuously capture screenshots and analyze them to make decisions like clicking or typing. To be effective, Jarvis uses contextual recognition and natural language processing technology, allowing the AI to respond to complex commands.
The project promises to create a powerful interactive experience between users and AI technology, with the hope that in the future, Jarvis could help users perform tasks without constant supervision.
In addition, Microsoft and OpenAI are also developing AI models that can automatically browse the web to research and perform similar tasks, and companies like Anthropic and Google are aiming to integrate this technology directly with personal computers, to enhance the interactivity and utility of AI in everyday tasks.
Google's project represents a new step in combining AI with web browsers to serve users more effectively in many life contexts.
