Ms. Phan Luong Cam is the first female professor and doctor of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Prof. Dr. Phan Luong Cam was born in 1943 in Thua Thien Hue. She is a famous scientist in the field of electrochemistry - metal corrosion in Vietnam and is the wife of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.
Since 1965, she has been a lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. In 1968, she was sent to the Soviet Union for research.
After successfully defending her doctoral thesis in Electrochemistry - Metal Corrosion, in early 1973 she returned to Vietnam and continued teaching and research at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Ms. Phan Luong Cam is the first female professor and doctor of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
In addition to teaching and research, she was also the founder and director of the Center for Corrosion and Metal Protection Research, Hanoi University of Science and Technology from 1996 until her retirement in 2008.
She was also the President of the Asia- Pacific Corrosion and Materials Association for the term 1999-2001.
Ms. Phan Luong Cam received the Kovalevskaia Award in 1995, the Labor Medal and many medals and certificates of merit for her contributions to education, science and technology, women's advancement and child protection./.
