Mr. Y Sanh Bdap and Mrs. H'Tim Hmok got married when the country was still at war. Due to difficult family circumstances, they did not have the opportunity to go to school. All day they spent working in the fields, going into the forest to find cassava, and picking wild vegetables to survive.
After the country was unified, my grandparents joined the village's work and realized that learning to read and write was extremely necessary, so they registered for classes and studied at home. Both my grandparents actively studied to improve their education, with the desire to participate in social work and help the village.
Mr. Y Sanh Bdap awarded his grandson, an excellent student of Dray Bhang Secondary School. |
In 1982, Mr. Y Sanh was introduced by the local authorities to work at the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Commune, Krong Ana District (now Cu Kuin District), while his wife stayed at home to take care of the family and live with the women in the village. From a secretary of the Commune People's Committee Office, after a period of work, he demonstrated his prestige, capacity and responsibility, so he was appointed to many key leadership positions in Hoa Hiep Commune and Cu Kuin District. Regardless of his position or job title, Mr. Y Sanh always strives to perform and complete all assigned tasks well.
Not only are they enthusiastic about the common work of society and the village, they also take care of their family and educate their 7 children. They always remind each other to work hard, study, and work well to set a good example for their children and grandchildren to follow.
Every day, despite being busy with social and village work, the grandparents always take time to encourage and care about their children's education. They have 5 children who have graduated from university, one graduated from vocational school, and one graduated from high school. Most of their children have grown up, have stable jobs in government agencies and schools in Cu Kuin district, and all have stable family lives. The grandparents also encouraged their children to build a family scholarship fund to reward and encourage their grandchildren to strive for high academic achievements.
Mr. Y Suyen Byă, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Association for Promotion of Education of Dray Bhăng commune, said: "The family of Mr. and Mrs. Y Sanh Bdap and H'Tim Hmôk is a family with a tradition of learning, from parents to children and grandchildren, everyone is diligent in studying to improve themselves, truly a shining example of building a learning family in Hra Ea Hning village and Dray Bhăng commune". Every year, the family always achieves the title of "Cultural Family", "Learning Family", for many consecutive years has been recognized as "Outstanding Learning Family", and has been awarded many certificates of merit by the District People's Committee, Commune People's Committee and associations at all levels.
