Hanoi: Announcement of sample questions for 7 subjects for 10th grade entrance exam in 2025

7 subjects with sample questions include: Literature, Math, English, Natural Sciences, History and Geography, CivicEducation , and Information Technology.

According to the announcement of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Literature and Math exams are in essay format, with a test time of 120 minutes, while the remaining subjects are multiple choice with 60 minutes.

The Literature subject has two parts, Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points).

The Math illustration test has 5 parts, including Thinking and Reasoning (three points), Problem Solving (4.5) and Mathematical Modeling (2.5).

Time frame for taking the multiple choice test subjects of Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year

For multiple choice subjects, the number of questions ranges from 22 to 40. The scores are not divided equally for each question, similar to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training with the high school graduation exam next year.

Specifically, multiple choice question format (Part I): each correct answer is worth 0.25 points.

With the True/False multiple choice question format (Part II), the maximum score for a question is 1.0 point, including:

Correct 1 idea in a sentence gets 0.1 point, similarly correct 2 ideas gets 0.25 point, correct 3 ideas gets 0.5 point, correct 4 ideas gets 1 full point.

Short answer multiple choice question format (Part III): Each correct answer gets 0.25 points.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the sample test is an important basis for building a question bank and creating test questions for the Hanoi City 10th grade entrance exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends that high schools strengthen the construction of question banks and test matrices according to the requirements of the subject program. Prepare 9th grade students to get acquainted with the orientation of the entrance exam for grade 10 according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Encourage schools in the area to build a Digital Library of test and survey questions to share with local educational institutions to exchange, learn, and support effective implementation of testing, assessment, and survey methods and knowledge.
