On the afternoon of May 7, speaking with a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, a leader of the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department informed that the department had requested the People's Committee of Cau Giay district to inspect and verify the establishment advertising the 40m long cigarette cart.
According to this leader, the pipe tube products reported on social networks belong to individual business households, and the responsibility for management according to the hierarchy belongs to the People's Committee of the commune or ward.
Through information on social networks, the department determined that in Cau Giay district there was an establishment advertising a 40m long pipe cart.
Therefore, during the working session of the Steering Committee for the month of action for food safety, the unit requested the People's Committee of Cau Giay district to check the origin of raw materials used at this facility.
Recently, information has been spreading on social networks that the expensive dish of pork intestines - a popular delicacy among drinkers - is actually just ordinary pork intestines shaped by traders.
Some opinions also say that this type of intestine is frozen goods from China, stored for many years, then imported to Vietnam. Because, in Vietnam, it is very difficult to have enough amount of this type of pig intestine to supply to restaurants on a daily basis.
Recently, a video was widely shared on social media, recording a restaurant owner in Hanoi showing off a 40m long, 5.8kg intestine, said to have come from a female pig weighing more than 100kg. The image of restaurant staff lining up to measure the length of the intestine made many people doubt the authenticity and origin of the dish.
Many consumers are worried, wondering if the pipe intestines are really as rare as rumored, or are they just a product "magically" made with chemicals? And if you accidentally eat poor quality intestines, will it affect your health?

Regarding the phenomenon of pork intestines stirring up social networks, in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety, said that the department's inspectors are conducting simultaneous inspections and taking samples for testing of establishments that trade and process pork intestines.
It is known that at noon of the same day, Food Safety Management Team No. 6 (in charge of Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan districts) and related authorities inspected Long Chat restaurant on Hong Lac street, Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City.
The inspection is still in progress according to the procedure, there is no final conclusion yet.
According to Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, it is possible that when the information about the incident is widely published in the media, the floating cigarette butt businesses will intentionally announce that they are "out of stock". Therefore, the authorities can return to the facilities for surprise inspections if they discover any countermeasures.
On May 6, answering the press on the sidelines of the National Assembly , Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan commented that the widespread sale of cigarette intestines could be an act of commercial fraud to increase profits, because this type of intestine is rare and difficult to find on the market.
Therefore, this agency will conduct inspections, trace the origin, take samples for testing at facilities, to see if there are any violations or detect illegal additives.
