Heavy rains over the past 6 hours have flooded several streets in the capital. Early this morning, many schools in Hanoi " urgently " announced that students would be off school.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 6, schools had announced that students would return to in-person classes today. However, since last night, Hanoi has had very heavy rain due to the influence of storm No. 11. Currently, some streets in the capital have been flooded.
According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 5:20 am this morning, the Hanoi area experienced moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and locally very heavy rain. The rainfall in the past 6 hours was generally from 40-80mm, with higher rainfall in some places such as Soc Son station 116mm, Thuong Cat station 91mm.
It is forecasted that in the next 3 to 6 hours, in Hanoi city, there will continue to be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with general rainfall of 40-70mm, and in some places very heavy rain over 100mm; from the evening and at night, the rain will decrease rapidly.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that people should be aware of the risk of flooding in low-lying streets in the inner city.
