Hanoi honors 66 establishments and units with Green Energy title in 2023

On the evening of December 8, in Hanoi, the awarding ceremony of the title of green energy facilities and construction works in 2023 took place for 66 facilities and units. The event was jointly organized by the Steering Committee of the Program for Economical and Efficient Use of Energy of Hanoi City, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, and the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology for Economical and Efficient Use of Energy.

In 2023, Hanoi City and businesses actively researched, applied, and innovated production operations processes, invested in technological equipment to save energy, reduce costs, and protect the environment during production and business.

In particular, Hanoi City has provided technical support for energy audits for 42 establishments and enterprises; assessed energy efficiency for 11 buildings and construction works; built energy management systems for 8 establishments; developed and recognized 66 green energy usage models in the City, with over 1,000 typical technical solutions. These solutions are being researched and applied by enterprises to innovate production operation processes and invest in technological equipment to reduce energy costs in the production and business process.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Permanent Deputy Head of the Program on economical and efficient use of energy in Hanoi, said that developing a green energy use model for facilities according to the Hanoi City Criteria in 2023 is one of the important tasks to implement the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy in 2023 in Hanoi.

The program to evaluate and recognize the title of Green Energy Facility in 2023 has attracted 100 participating units in the City; Facilities participating in the program are supported to evaluate energy efficiency using energy simulation tools, support in calculating energy efficiency index, building energy management systems; evaluate the application of innovative equipment and techniques with high automation levels towards 4.0 generation industrial technology according to the city's criteria issued in Decision No. 4281/QD-UBND dated August 28, 2023.

At the Award Ceremony, 66 establishments with the highest scores were awarded the title of Hanoi Green Energy 2023 by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade. The enterprises have implemented energy management models, technical solutions, invested in innovative high-performance, energy-saving technological equipment, and implemented technical solutions according to the specific needs of each enterprise. To date, according to preliminary assessments, Hanoi has saved 134.9 kTOE, reaching 1.67% of energy consumption compared to forecast demand.

Of which, 19 key energy-using facilities and construction works have implemented 140 solutions, saving 9,530 TOE, equivalent to saving 106.7 billion VND in the 3-year project life cycle; the plan for efficient energy use in the next 5 years, these 19 facilities will save 15,860 TOE, equivalent to 178.9 billion VND; 22 energy-intensive facilities have implemented 110 solutions, saving 700.3 TOE, equivalent to saving 7.6 billion VND in the 3-year project life cycle; the plan for efficient energy use in the next 5 years, these 22 facilities will save 1,167.2 TOE, equivalent to 13.2 billion VND.

The awarding of the Green Energy title aims to honor establishments and businesses using Green Energy as well as to popularize and replicate typical energy-saving solutions for establishments with similar models to apply, helping to promote the management and efficient use of energy, improving the city's energy efficiency; at the same time, demonstrating the City's determination to remove difficulties and reduce energy costs for businesses in the process of international economic integration.

Through the program, facilities with similar models will apply, helping to promote effective energy management and use, and improve energy efficiency in Hanoi.

Some typical energy saving solutions of participating units this year include: Solar battery usage model at: Terumo Vietnam Co., Ltd., Hanwha Aero Engines Co., Ltd., MOLEX Vietnam Co., Ltd., Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) Building, LOTTE MALL West Lake Hanoi Project,...; Using BMS software to monitor and control equipment such as: Electrical systems, air conditioning, lighting, pumps, fans, AHU,... at: Vietcombank Building, Indochina Plaza Hanoi Building, AEON Mall Ha Dong shopping center, Metropole Hanoi Hotel, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank)...
