After 2 years of implementation in Hiep Duc and Tien Phuoc districts, the project implemented by Habitat Vietnam with funding from the JTI Foundation has built 41 new houses, renovated 60 houses; at the same time upgraded community infrastructure at evacuation points, escape routes and drainage systems, bringing practical benefits to more than 200 people.
The total cost of the project is about 3.9 billion VND, of which the People's Committees of Tien Phuoc and Hiep Duc districts will contribute about 900 million VND from the budget.
Through the participatory approach (PASSA), two local community groups were established and their capacity was enhanced in identifying disaster risks and implementing appropriate response measures. In addition, people were also raised about the impact and significance of the project.

The highlight of the project is the multi-stakeholder cooperation model - where local communities, governments at all levels, businesses and social organizations participate in creating solutions.
A typical example is the support of Phan Ngoc Anh Construction Materials Company Limited (Duy Xuyen district) in supporting construction materials for households, showing the potential for replicating the public-private-people partnership model in the field of safe housing development.

Since 2001, Habitat Vietnam has helped improve the lives of more than 19,000 households and 152,000 people in many localities through community-led capacity building and development activities.
Habitat Vietnam also promotes climate change resilience, promotes inclusion, connects governments and people, and provides market-based housing finance services.
