HAGL had a forgettable away trip to Thien Truong Stadium in round 23 of LPBank V-League, when they lost 1-6 to Thep Xanh Nam Dinh . With this result, the team from the mountain town is still not sure of staying in the league.

As of now, HAGL is in 8th place with 27 points, 7 points more than Da Nang, who is at the bottom of the rankings. Coach Le Quang Trai said that the team wants to save their strength to fight SHB Da Nang in round 24 at home, and determined that this is the most important match to complete the goal of staying in the V-League this year. Therefore, in the match against Nam Dinh, HAGL only used young players, leaving 2 foreign players on the bench.

"We determined that the match against SHB Da Nang is extremely important. If we win this match, HAGL will no longer have to worry about the relegation race. Therefore, in the match against Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, we will not take risks with players who have received cards or key players. The team determines which match is important.

However, I am responsible for HAGL's heavy 1-6 loss to Thep Xanh Nam Dinh. This is also a test for the young players. They need challenges to develop in the future," said coach Le Quang Trai.

Explaining further about the loss to Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, coach Le Quang Trai said that HAGL made too many mistakes and had to pay the price. These are the issues that the team needs to learn from in order to best prepare for the match against SHB Da Nang in the next round.

Meanwhile, Vu Hong Viet admitted that he was surprised when HAGL used a squad with many young players. Regarding the championship race, he said that Thep Xanh Nam Dinh still needs more wins to be able to defend the throne when Hanoi FC is chasing fiercely after the victory over TP.HCM in round 23.
