On the morning of January 27, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Principal of Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa City (Thanh Hoa), said that in the national excellent student exam for the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 83 out of 84 students winning prizes in Thanh Hoa province.
Among the 84 students who won prizes, there were 9 first prizes, 22 second prizes, 23 third prizes and 30 consolation prizes. Of which, biology was the subject with students winning the most first prizes in this year's exam (3 prizes).

According to Mr. Son, among the 3 students who won first prize in biology, 2 are twins. They are Nguyen Le Bao Long, a 12th grade chemistry major, and Nguyen Le Thanh Cong, a 12th grade biology major.
"This is the highest achievement ever. Before the exam, the school prepared very early. Starting from the end of the previous school year, the school proactively established qualifying teams, trained during the summer, and provided additional knowledge for the students," said Mr. Son.
According to Mr. Son, in addition to the twins who won first prize in biology, a 10th grade student named Hoang Bao Chau also won first prize in geography.
This year, Thanh Hoa province participated in the national excellent student selection exam with the largest number of candidates, 90, divided equally in 9 subjects: math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography and English.
