“The opponents at SEA Games 33 are all very strong, with Indonesia and Thailand being the two most formidable teams. U22 Vietnam will strive to achieve the goal of winning the gold medal. However, I think that Vietnam’s biggest opponent is ourselves,” striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan shared before the U22 Vietnam training session on the afternoon of November 26.
The player of PVF-CAND continued: “Today is the third day of training for the team, the players are gradually getting into the rhythm. We will try harder. The whole team is still practicing at high intensity to maintain physical strength. The tactics of U22 Vietnam will not be different from the time of playing U23 Southeast Asia 2025 and the U23 Asia qualifiers 2026. Each player on the attack line has their own strengths and so do I. I will try to perform well to have an official place in the competition.”
On the morning of November 26, the host country's organizing committee decided to move the competitions in Songkhla to Bangkok due to the complicated flood situation there. The U22 Vietnam group was also moved and will compete at Thammasat Stadium. Thanh Nhan affirmed that this did not affect the team's preparation much.
Finally, he emphasized: “Internal competitive pressure exists in every tournament. Everyone must try to stay alive at the end. We will try to practice and compete to the best of our ability. We hope that fans will accompany the whole team at the 33rd SEA Games.”
