In the early morning of October 7, a fire broke out at a 1-ground-floor, 2-story house located in an alley on Duong Thieu Tuoc Street, Tan Son Nhi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This house was rented by a family of 2, a mother and her child. The fire broke out at the foot of the stairs, blocking the only exit of the house with fire and smoke.

Mother and child were rescued by people in time from the fire.

The mother and child opened the first floor door to the balcony to avoid smoke inhalation and shouted for help. People around the area brought water hoses and fire extinguishers to the scene to break down the door to put out the fire and find a way to bring the mother and child to the ground safely.

Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police deployed vehicles and officers to the scene, however the fire was extinguished by the people. Through the scene investigation, Tan Son Nhi Ward Police discovered that the fire broke out from the area where the water pump was located. The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
