Hai Phong was awarded more than 900 billion VND from excess revenue from import and export.

(HQ Online) - From the budget revenue exceeding the target of Hai Phong Customs Department, the Central Government has reinvested a total of 926.6 billion VND back into the locality.

At the 14th session (special session) of the 16th City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, (March 22), the City People's Council reviewed, voted and unanimously passed 12 Resolutions. These are extremely important resolutions for the socio -economic development, strengthening the city's defense and security.

One of the important contents approved at the meeting is the plan to use the excess revenue bonus divided between the central budget and local budgets to reinvest according to the special mechanism in 2022.

Specifically, in 2022, Hai Phong city's state budget revenue from import-export activities reached 67,806 billion VND (revenue results of Hai Phong Customs Department), exceeding 20.6%, equivalent to 11,876 billion VND compared to the assigned target (55,930 billion VND).

From this result, according to the provisions of Decree 89/2017/ND-CP dated July 29, 2017 of the Government on regulations on special financial and budgetary mechanisms and policies for Hai Phong city, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1491/QD-TTg dated November 29, 2023 to reward revenue exceeding the budget estimate and reinvest in the locality with a total amount of 926.6 billion VND.

This is an important additional source of capital for Hai Phong city to continue implementing public investment plans and socio-economic development policies in 2024.

The City People's Council unanimously approved the plan to allocate public investment expenditure of VND896.6 billion and VND30 billion to supplement the capital entrusted through the City's Social Policy Bank branch to provide loans to create jobs for socio-economic development.

Previously, in 2020 and 2022, Hai Phong city received rewards from the Government, supplementing the city budget from excess revenue from import-export activities (revenue results of Hai Phong Customs Department).

Specifically, the amount of bonus for excess revenue in 2020 is 1,999.2 billion VND (according to Decision No. 644/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2020 of the Prime Minister);

The excess revenue bonus in 2022 is 1,785 billion VND (according to Decision No. 807/QD-TTg dated July 11, 2022 of the Prime Minister).
