According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, during a recent visit and working session with the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Chang Joon Yoen, Vice President of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), said that Korea is willing to share its 40 years of experience in developing the semiconductor industry, while supporting the training of human resources in artificial intelligence (AI), making Vietnam a bright spot in AI in the region and the world.
At the request of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, KIST will consider supporting the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) to establish a modern semiconductor microchip research laboratory located at VKIST ( Hanoi ), including consulting on training, human resources, equipment for microchip and semiconductor research, etc.
Speaking with Mr. Chang Joon Yoen, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy affirmed that Vietnam has a need to develop the semiconductor and AI industries. Therefore, in order to implement strategies to develop the semiconductor and AI industries, the establishment of a semiconductor and microchip research lab is essential.
Previously, during his visit to South Korea in early July, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the South Korean Government to support Vietnam in training human resources in the fields of semiconductors and AI, focusing on developing a team of software design engineers, packaging, and testing to serve domestic and international needs.
