Determined to have a beautiful farewell
At 5:00 p.m. today, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (ranked 23rd in the world ) faced the Kenyan team (ranked 25th in the world) in the final match of Group G at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. Although both teams have run out of chances to continue, their goal is to win honorably before the end of the tournament.
Vietnam is ranked 2 places above Kenya in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) rankings, but the African representative is the team with more experience in this arena as they have participated for the 7th time while for Vietnam, this is the first time.
Being restrained by Kenya's defense, Coach Tuan Kiet regrets: 'The whole team was not themselves'

Kenya's defense is so good
The match was quite tense with fierce competition between the two teams. In set 1, the Vietnamese women's team, despite a poor start, quickly regained control of the game thanks to the timely brilliance of Bich Thuy and Kim Thoa. However, despite their effective attacks, Vietnam still had difficulty defending and dealing with the powerful shots from their opponents and had to accept a narrow defeat with a score of 23-25.
On the field, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet encouraged his students to persevere no matter what and never give up.
Kenya women's volleyball team blocks the ball well

Captain Thanh Thuy's attack

Kenya's defense was the key to their victory in this match.
In the second set, Kenya still had a better start, taking the lead by 3 to 4 points in the first half of the set. After that, the Vietnamese girls caught up and continued to chase. The African team maintained the lead thanks to Adhiambo's rise while Vietnam was still unable to diversify their attacks and was constantly caught by Kenya's defense.
The final score of the second set was scored in relatively chaotic circumstances when first, Kenya's number 9 Kaei wobbled his serve over the net but the referee then replayed the serve and Kaei scored directly from a soft serve that went into the right angle to close the second set with a score of 25-22.

Vi Thi Nhu Quynh had an explosive set 3
With nothing left to lose, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team rose up in set 3 and created a completely different situation from the first two sets. This was the set where Vi Thi Nhu Quynh shone like in the match against Poland with many good attacks, direct serves and defense. Coach Tuan Kiet's students continuously took the lead in the first half of this set but gradually lost strength and let their opponents catch up and advance. The Kenyan team's blockers played very focused and very well, neutralizing most of Vietnam's attacks. Set 3 ended with a score of 25-18 and Kenya won 3-0.

In set 3, the Vietnamese girls made many efforts to reverse the situation.

Vietnam women's volleyball team leaves the tournament with many valuable experiences

This is a valuable experience for Vietnamese women's volleyball.
Thus, in the first time participating in the Women's Volleyball World Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team could not achieve the goal of having 1 win, but the efforts of the whole team were still commendable, especially in the match against Poland - the world's 3rd ranked team, we had a shocking win in 1 set. These are valuable experiences for the rookies of the world tournament and certainly the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will return to this arena in the future, continue to train and improve their skills to aim for higher achievements.
