Emirates officially opens flights to Da Nang

DNVN - At 7:50 p.m. on June 2, flight EK370 of the world's largest 5-star airline Emirates landed at Da Nang airport with 333 international passengers.

The wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, flight number EK370, was welcomed with a water cannon salute. This was also the first flight in Emirates’ regular schedule on the Dubai – Bangkok – Da Nang route with a frequency of 4 flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Passengers enjoyed a traditional art performance, received flowers and souvenirs as a warm welcome, showing hospitality and contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang - a safe, friendly and attractive destination.

According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Emirates' opening of flights to Da Nang has helped the city connect with more than 140 of the airline's global destinations, including potential markets such as the Middle East, Europe, North America, Africa, etc.

Passengers on the flight were excited when landing at Da Nang airport.

“Not only promoting tourism development, this flight route also expands opportunities for trade cooperation, investment and economic and cultural exchange, contributing to spreading the promotion of Da Nang to the world with the message “Discover the stories of Danang”, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh emphasized.

Ms. Hanh also said that to be ready to welcome visitors from the Middle East and new markets with high spending levels, the Department has coordinated with relevant units to prepare to complete facilities, improve service quality, organize specialized training, and instruct on culture, customs and service procedures suitable for specific markets.

At the same time, deploy connections to support tourism businesses to exchange customer sources, develop international markets through this flight route to promote two-way passenger growth, aiming to exploit the flight route sustainably and effectively.

According to Mr. Nabil Sultan - Executive Vice President of Passenger Business and Country Management of Emirates, the launch of this route is an important step in the airline's growth strategy in Southeast Asia, reinforcing Emirates' commitment to providing seamless connectivity to support Vietnam's long-term trade and tourism goals.
