A series of technologies were demonstrated at the Vietnam-Laos Trade Connection Fair.

The 2025 Vietnam - Laos Business Product Promotion and Trade Fair, at the Lao International Exhibition and Convention Center (Lao Itecc) in Vientiane, Laos. The event attracted the participation of many large enterprises from Vietnam and Laos, aiming to promote cooperation and trade between the two countries.

Viettel Group, with the Unitel brand operating in Laos, introduced a series of technology products to Lao people, notably a sorting robot product applied in the logistics field.

At the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense visited Viettel's booth and listened to a detailed introduction of the product.

The interest of the Ministry of National Defense's leaders in this technology product shows their appreciation for the application of digital technology in improving the efficiency of the logistics sector and digital transformation in Laos.

Viettel's automatic sorting robot system has a moving speed of 2m/s and a load capacity of up to 1 ton, integrating sensor technology with QR code positioning, capable of avoiding collisions and moving precisely in warehouse space, minimizing human intervention.

This advanced technology solution helps optimize the sorting and sorting process in shipping warehouses, increasing efficiency and estimated to reduce operating costs by 40% compared to traditional methods.

Previously, in October 2025, Viettel launched the Unitel Logistics brand in the Lao market. Unitel Logistics is oriented to become an integrated logistics enterprise, applying comprehensive digital technology in supply chain management and operation.

From there, a complete logistics service ecosystem is formed, bringing convenient experiences to Lao people and businesses, from sending and receiving goods at home to choosing transportation, warehousing and value-added services according to needs.

Within the framework of the event, Viettel also introduced many technological solutions that are serving daily digital transformation in Laos such as U-Money e-wallet with more than 1.8 million users, providing cashless payment services, money transfer, phone top-up and payment of public services, contributing to promoting financial inclusion and improving the quality of life of Lao people.

Other products and services include the super application LaoApp designed by Viettel, personalized specifically for Lao people, integrating many digital utilities such as entertainment, news, shopping and life services; LaoTV - the first OTT television service system in Laos with a video content store and online television via the Internet; LaoHealth platform serving the health sector or LaoEdu system supporting digital transformation in the education sector.

The 2025 Vietnam - Laos Business Product Promotion and Trade Fair will be held from November 20 to 23, 2025 in Vientiane, Laos.

Attending the opening ceremony on the morning of November 20 were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, who attended and delivered the opening speech. Also attending were Comrade Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos; Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army; representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ministries and branches of the two countries.

This is an important event, aiming to strengthen economic cooperation and create trade opportunities between businesses of the two countries. Viettel's participation at the fair is not only an opportunity to introduce technology products but also affirms the role of Viettel Group in promoting digital transformation and economic and social development not only in Vietnam but also in neighboring Laos./.
