Proposal of 99.5 billion VND for urgent repair of 7 reservoirs in Lam Dong

Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited (Lam Dong) has just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches, requesting funding to upgrade and urgently repair 7 reservoirs in area 2.

Accordingly, the reservoirs proposed for urgent upgrading and repair in order of priority include: Song Quao, Suoi Da, Ca Giang Ham Hiep, Gieng Co, Bo Bo, Nam Heo and Song Dinh Forestry Farm.

Song Quao Lake Irrigation Project

These reservoirs are assessed and reviewed by the Company as having a high risk of being unsafe. Therefore, the purpose of emergency repairs is to ensure the safety of the dam, serve the water supply for agricultural production, daily life, industry and contribute to the economic development of the localities.

Specifically, at Song Quao Lake (Ham Thuan Bac Commune), the Company proposed to upgrade and repair the auxiliary dam No. 3 with a length of 325m. The current state of the lake is seeping through the foundation and body of the dam when the reservoir is at a water level of +89.38m, 0.79m lower than the normal water level. The Company proposed a solution of grouting and creating a dam waterproofing membrane to ensure the permeability coefficient and dam stability.

For Suoi Da reservoir (Hong Son commune), it is recommended to upgrade and repair sections and reinforced concrete slabs of the upstream roof that have been damaged, exposed, or broken. At the same time, restore the roof and renew the downstream drainage system with concrete ditches and divide into protective grass planting areas.

Along with that, upgrade and repair the management road from the left shoulder of auxiliary dam 1 to the right shoulder of auxiliary dam 2 with a length of 740m using concrete structure; install a monitoring and supervision system according to Decree No. 114/2018/ND-CP of the Government on safety management of dams and reservoirs.

Ca Giang Ham Hiep Reservoir

The Ca Giang Ham Hiep reservoir (Binh Thuan ward) is proposed to be upgraded, the dam surface repaired and the wheel curbs made of concrete. At the same time, the sections and reinforced concrete slabs of the upstream slope that have been damaged, exposed steel, broken, or slid off will be repaired; the slope will be restored and the downstream drainage system will be renewed with concrete ditches and grass-planted protective cells; the reservoir area in front of the water intake and in front of the spillway will be dredged to ensure the design function.

Gieng Co Lake (Ham Liem commune) is also proposed to be upgraded, the dam surface repaired and the wheel curbs made of concrete; the upstream slope reinforced with steel mesh concrete slabs; the slope restored and the downstream drainage system renewed with concrete ditches and grass-planting cells for protection.

In addition, Bo Bo Lake (Hai Ninh Commune); Nam Heo Lake (Luong Son Commune) and Song Dinh Forestry Lake (Suoi Kiet Commune) are also proposed to upgrade and repair the dam surface and make concrete curbs; reinforce the upstream slope with steel mesh concrete slabs. At the same time, restore the slope and renew the downstream drainage system with concrete ditches and divide into protective grass planting areas; upgrade and repair the management road with concrete structure.

The total budget that Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited proposed to upgrade and repair the 7 urgent works mentioned above is over 99.5 billion VND.

It is known that Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited is managing and exploiting 159 irrigation works. Of which, there are 49 reservoirs, 89 weirs, and 21 pumping stations.
