A series of cars have been discounted by hundreds of millions of dong in Vietnam.

This is the best time in many years for Vietnamese people to buy cars at affordable prices, from popular cars to luxury cars. Discounts are up to hundreds of millions of VND per car.

The Vietnamese auto market has never seen such a sharp drop in car prices across most car brands. The common reduction from a few tens of millions of dong last year has now increased to hundreds of millions of dong, but purchasing power has shown no signs of increasing.

Kia Sorento reduces price to compete with Hyundai Santa Fe with big incentives

The Kia Sorento 2.2D diesel version has a discount of 100 million VND, the highest in the latest promotion of the Korean car manufacturer. Notably, the two hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the Kia Sorento are also discounted up to 95 million VND in this period.

For Kia Sportage, the 2.0D Signature and Signature X-Line versions are discounted by 100 million VND. Kia K3 offers a maximum discount of 80 million VND, Kia Seltos is 68 million VND, while the "newbie" Kia Carens also has a maximum discount of 63 million VND.

Hyundai Stargazer is currently applying a 100% registration fee support program. Accordingly, in May 2023, the car has a maximum incentive worth 82 million VND depending on the version and registration location. Meanwhile, the senior model Hyundai Santa Fe also has the highest discount of up to 200 million VND.

Honda CR-V is also being supported with 100% of the registration fee, equivalent to a maximum value of 136 million VND. This program has been continuously implemented for many months, starting from the end of 2022. However, sales of this C-class SUV suddenly decreased sharply in March 2023, thereby ending the first quarter of 2023 with 932 vehicles sold in the Vietnamese market.

Nissan is also implementing a 100% registration fee incentive for all of its car models in the Vietnamese market. Specifically, in May 2023, Almera, Navara and Kicks models will be supported with 100% registration fee, equivalent to a maximum of 102 million VND depending on the car model and version.
