Hundreds of officials and civil servants have asked for early retirement to streamline the apparatus.

(NADS) - Quang Tri responded to the policy of streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, many cadres, civil servants and public employees in Quang Tri voluntarily asked for early retirement.

According to statistics, the whole province has 233 cases of registered leave to facilitate organizational work, including many leaders of departments and branches.

On January 17, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuong - Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri province confirmed that he and two Deputy Directors, Mr. Nguyen Hoan and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, had registered for early retirement to implement the staff streamlining roadmap.

Sharing about this decision, Mr. Tuong said: “I feel comfortable registering for early retirement because this is the right policy of the Party and the State. Streamlining the apparatus is necessary to improve the efficiency of government operations, creating opportunities for the young generation to develop their capacity.”

Not only the Department of Information and Communications, the Steering Committee for the summary of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of Quang Tri province said that the number of cadres and civil servants who requested to retire was spread across many agencies and units. In 233 cases, there were 110 commune-level cadres, 107 cadres in the government sector, the rest were in other public service units. Notably, 14 cadres under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, including many directors and deputy directors of departments such as the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Transport, etc., also proactively registered to retire early.

The streamlining of staff in Quang Tri is being carried out according to Decrees 177 and 178. The Steering Committee summarizing Resolution 18-NQ/TW has compiled a list and estimated support budget for officials, civil servants and public employees who have requested to resign.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee also requested the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to study more support policies from the local budget, to ensure the rights of those who proactively quit their jobs to restructure the apparatus.
