Hundreds of thousands of people will sing the National Anthem at the Flag Raising Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square on August 16.

Following the success of the event "Fatherland in the heart", the walking program "Moving forward with Vietnam" organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, is expected to have 10,000 people in Hanoi and 90,000 people in Ho Chi Minh City participating directly.

It is expected that 10,000 people in Hanoi will directly participate in the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" walking event.

The atmosphere of preparation for the “Moving Forward with Vietnam” walking program is heating up in all provinces and cities across the country. This is the first walking activity organized at the national level, part of a series of sports- cultural-artistic-interactive events to celebrate the August Revolution, National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

The program is implemented in two forms: online and offline. With the online form, people nationwide can register to walk every day through the event's official website.

For direct participants, from 6:00 to 7:30 a.m. on August 16, 2025, in all localities across the country, everyone will simultaneously wear red shirts with yellow stars, sing the National Anthem, and march together for a united, strong, and sustainable Vietnam.

A special point is that on the morning of August 16, before the national walk takes place, the program will have a live connection (livestream on Nhan Dan Newspaper's platform) with the Flag Raising Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square. It is expected that 10,000 people will participate in the live event in Hanoi and sing the National Anthem, joining the beat towards the Fatherland.

At the same time in Ho Chi Minh City, it is expected that 90,000 people will participate. For other provinces and cities nationwide, it is expected that 5,000-6,000 people will participate directly in each locality. The number of people walking directly nationwide is expected to be 200,000 people.

In addition, as of 8:00 a.m. on August 14, the number of people registering online on the official website of the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" has reached nearly 56,000, equivalent to the accumulated number of steps of more than 202 million and the reduction of more than 22,600 kg of _CO2 emissions.

With the main message “1 billion steps into the new era”, the event is expected to mobilize the collective strength of millions of people across the country to join in walking, marking 1 billion steps for the health, solidarity and aspiration of a nation that is strongly transforming in the new era.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Steering Committee for the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" activity, this program has been cherished by the Organizing Committee for a long time and has become a reality with the close coordination of the Ministry of Public Security.

“In addition to the goal of improving public health, the program also contributes to reducing _CO2 emissions, moving towards a green lifestyle,” Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
