The success of this year's Red Journey was achieved thanks to comprehensive direction, support, good advice, creating a solid foundation to help the program spread widely; synchronous, close, and highly responsible coordination; flexible, creative, and methodical organization and implementation methods suitable to each locality and blood use needs; timely communication work and the unanimous strength of the people."
Recalling the memories of the Red Journey from 2013, Dr. Le Gia Tien, Chief of Office of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Co-Head of the Red Journey Organizing Committee, also said that the results of the first 5 years of the program were very impressive and from the 6th year onwards, the program has been adjusted creatively and flexibly, giving more initiative to localities.
After 13 years of organization, Red Journey has achieved the biggest goal initially set in 2013 - overcoming the blood shortage in the summer; creating the biggest communication campaign on voluntary blood donation, mobilizing the active participation of local leaders. Not only the blood donation program, but many activities such as: honoring blood donors, other humanitarian activities are also integrated very effectively.
Strengthening the application of information technology in blood reception
Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Ha Thanh emphasized that the Red Journey is not only about impressive numbers and brilliant red images, but also the spirit of solidarity and strong consensus of the Organizing Committee, of the provinces/cities; and the active response of hundreds of thousands of blood donors across the country. All of these have contributed to the success of the largest blood donation campaign in Vietnam.
Despite many difficulties, 32/34 provinces/cities nationwide have made efforts to organize the Red Journey this year; this demonstrates the great determination of the localities. Therefore, Dr. Le Gia Tien suggested that in 2026 and the following years, "we need to try to maintain and promote the Red Journey brand even more".
Entering 2026, the Organizing Committee wishes to continue to maintain the organization of the Red Journey integrated into the campaign "Red Summer Blood Drops"; ensuring consistency in content and unique identities of the program. The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion is the focal point for coordination in communication, blood reception and supply, training, coaching and professional support for units.
The Red Journey festivals will be organized in the form of "Opening at one point - Donating blood at many points" for the convenience of the people.
The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in localities needs to be proactive in organizing and comprehensively preparing human and material resources and mobilizing social resources to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of activities.
The work of developing volunteer forces and enhancing the application of information technology in blood collection and blood donor care has also been promoted, aiming towards practicality and sustainability.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded certificates of organizing the Red Journey to provinces/cities and certificates of companionship to sponsoring units.
