Former Liverpool striker Harry Kewell was officially unveiled as head coach of Hanoi FC on the afternoon of October 9. Harry Kewell expressed his excitement at the challenge of the V-League, especially the role of steering the most successful team in Vietnamese football.
" Working at Hanoi FC is also a pressure," said Harry Kewell, "However, I am ready to face that pressure. I guarantee that I will work hard and make an effort."

"To build a team, I have to depend on the quality of the players I have and the way we work together every day. If I want to play like Liverpool or Arsenal, it takes time and people. I am a coach who always tries to adapt and wants to do everything to complete the set goals. Hanoi FC not only has the ambition to succeed but also has identity and pride. That makes me excited and I accept to come to Vietnam to lead this team."

Hanoi FC Chairman Do Vinh Quang said that with the presence of Harry Kewell, the capital team hopes to develop systematically and realize the goal of reaching the continental level. "We spent a lot of time negotiating and exchanging and received a nod. Harry Kewell's only goal when coming to Hanoi is to win with the team," said Mr. Quang.
Harry Kewell replaced coach Makoto Teguramori to lead Hanoi FC. Currently, Hanoi FC is ranked 6th in V-League and Harry Kewell's debut match will be against the top team Ninh Binh on October 18.
