According to Money Today (Korea), Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25 in San Francisco. This event is expected to reveal new improvements in design and performance, attracting the attention of the global technology community.
Although the Galaxy S26 launch date is later than the Galaxy S25 (January 22, 2025) and Galaxy S24 (January 17, 2024), it is still earlier than recent predictions, when many sources said the device only appeared in March 2026.

This shows that instead of a long delay, Samsung is just tweaking the schedule for a few weeks, which does not significantly affect the launch plan early this year or the smartphone market share that the company is aiming for.
Initially, Samsung planned to change the product structure for the Galaxy S26 series: the standard version would be replaced by the Galaxy S26 Pro, while the Galaxy S26+ was expected to be changed to the Galaxy S25 Edge, focusing on ultra-thin design and aesthetics.
However, this strategy has been subject to a last-minute change. According to Money Today, the market is no longer in favor of thin phones, because cutting back on batteries and components reduces the user experience. Users today prioritize performance, battery life and cameras over ultra-thin appearance.
Faced with market backlash, Samsung was forced to return to its familiar trio: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This decision came too late, disrupting production schedules and forcing the company to push the launch date to the end of February.
The Galaxy S26 series is rumored to bring back Exynos chips after two years of Snapdragon dominance. According to leaks, all Galaxy S26 versions will feature the Exynos 2600, except for North America, China, and Japan, where the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is still used.
It’s worth noting that while the Exynos 2600 may not be as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, reports suggest it could potentially outperform the iPhone 17 Pro. If true, it would be a significant step forward, as Exynos has been seen as inferior to Snapdragon for years.
However, nothing has been confirmed yet. During the Q3 financial meeting, Samsung refused to reveal which chip will be used in the Galaxy S26, suggesting that the company is still in the final evaluation process.
If February 25 is the official launch date, the next question is when will the Galaxy S26 hit shelves. Referring to the Galaxy S25 schedule, which was launched on January 22 and sold on February 3, 2025, the Galaxy S26 could start reaching users around March 9, 2026, opening Samsung's early-year business cycle.
With changes in design, processor chip and launch strategy, Galaxy S26 promises to be a highlight in early 2026, and is also an important test step for Samsung in balancing design, performance and market demand.
