While many people are eagerly waiting for the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has not forgotten to develop mid-range smartphones, with the Galaxy A57 being one of the prominent names. According to the latest report from PhoneArena , this phone model promises to impress with its ability to charge faster than the company's phones.

3C certification is said to be of the Galaxy A57 that Samsung is launching next year

Recently, the Galaxy A57 appeared on China's 3C certification website with model number SM-A5760 and many notable specifications. Specifically, this mid-range smartphone can support wired charging with a capacity of up to 45W, faster than the rumored 25W for the upcoming Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus duo.
Galaxy S26 continues Samsung's 'shameful tradition'
If the leak is accurate, this information is not too surprising as Samsung has long been known to limit battery capacity and charging speeds on high-end devices. For example, the Galaxy S25 only supports 25W charging, while the mid-range Galaxy A56 can charge at up to 45W, the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This shows an interesting trend: Samsung is offering faster charging speeds for mid-range devices that cost around $500 compared to high-end phones that start at $800.

The Galaxy A57 continues the same trend that Samsung did with the Galaxy A56 last year.

Meanwhile, other brands like OnePlus are making great strides in battery capacity and charging speed. The OnePlus 15 model has a 7,300 mAh battery with up to 80W charging capacity for the international version. Even the iPhone 17 achieved 36W charging speed in tests.
The Galaxy A57 is expected to launch in March 2026 and may be powered by the Exynos 1680 chip. However, the device may not support wireless charging and will not have a telephoto camera, and will also lack some AI (artificial intelligence) features that high-end models like the Galaxy S26 have.
While fast charging isn't the only deciding factor when it comes to buying a smartphone, users still want the best specs. It's time for Samsung to improve the battery technology of its Galaxy S devices so it doesn't fall behind competitors like OnePlus.
