Enhancing climate change adaptation capacity from the "Moving Forward" program

QTO - On the morning of November 26, Plan International Vietnam, in collaboration with CARE International Vietnam and the Center for Research on Community Development Initiatives (RIC), organized a conference to evaluate the results of the 2024-2025 period and orientation for the 2025-2026 period for the "Moving Forward" program. The conference was held online with the participation of delegates from the three project beneficiary provinces of Phu Tho, Quang Tri and Tuyen Quang.

The “Moving Forward” programme is a collaborative initiative supported by the Government of Ireland, aiming to build climate change resilience for poor and ethnic minority communities in mountainous areas through capacity building and support for sustainable livelihoods and infrastructure.

The program has contributed significantly to enhancing the capacity to adapt to climate change, investing in building transport infrastructure, clean water sources and sustainable livelihoods for people in 13 communes in the three provinces of Phu Tho , Quang Tri and Tuyen Quang.

In Quang Tri, people in 5 communes Lia, A Doi, Tan Lap, Dakrong, Ta Rut, mainly women, children, and people with disabilities are the direct beneficiaries of the project.

In the 2025 - 2026 period, the "Moving Forward" program will continue to receive 1.4 million EURO funding from the Irish Government's official international development assistance program (Irish Aid) to implement components for 13 communes in the three provinces of Phu Tho, Quang Tri and Tuyen Quang.
