According to the State Bank, in recent years, the legal framework and policies in the payment activities of the banking sector have been increasingly improved, promoting digital transformation and cashless payments, meeting the payment needs of people and businesses. To date, most basic banking services have been performed on digital channels, with many banks achieving a rate of more than 95% of transactions performed on digital channels. According to statistics in the first months of 2025, the total number of non-cash payment transactions increased by 41.28% in quantity and 21.91% in value; via the internet channel increased by 35.81% in quantity and 29.69% in value; via mobile phone channels increased by 35.13% in quantity and 18.63% in value; transactions via QR code increased by 75.54% in quantity and 196.62% in value.

VPBank is one of the first banks in Vietnam to provide a comprehensive and complete set of unlimited Tap & Pay payment wallet solutions on Android or IOS operating systems such as Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay and Pay by Account. To make payments, users only need to link card information to their phone/smartwatch. This method helps to ensure maximum security for customers' personal information, data and transaction information.

VPBank also deployed VP Pay wallet right on VPBank NEO application, exclusively for VPBank customers and Garmin Pay sports- loving customers. Customers can activate and use VP Pay touch payment right on VPBank NEO application at POS acceptance points, with absolute security.

Or VPBank pioneered the implementation of the payment method using existing accounts, Pay by Account, to diversify payment methods for customers. Pay by Account allows direct use of funds from VPBank NEO accounts to make "touch" payment transactions at any Mastercard acceptance point worldwide without having to own an international payment card.

Not only payment features for individuals, VPBank also deploys Tap2Phone - a device that accepts touch payments using smartphones instead of POS for business owners. Tap2Phone has full features to support transaction checking and revenue management for stores including: Canceling transactions, finalizing accounting, querying transaction history and issuing electronic invoices immediately via email. In particular, all transactions via Tap2Phone are highly secure.

According to a VPBank representative, by the end of 2024, the bank's VPBank NEO digital banking application had attracted more than 10 million users with more than 700 million online transactions. Of which, VPBank's touch transaction turnover via credit cards increased by 70% compared to 2023, focusing mainly on daily transactions such as supermarkets, shopping, dining, etc.

Accordingly, VPBank will refund 50,000 VND for customers who make their first transaction via Tap & Pay using a VPBank credit card with a minimum bill of 200,000 VND; refund 100,000 VND for Apple Pay, VP Pay, Garmin Pay payment methods with a minimum of 6 transactions with a total turnover for each payment value on the app from 3.5 million VND...
