On February 23, Badminton player Le Duc Phat won against his opponent Fabio Caponio (Italy, ranked 90th in the world) with a score of 19-21, 21-14, 21-13 in the second round of the Uganda International Badminton Tournament 2024. After that, Duc Phat continued to win against Mark Shelley Alcala (USA, ranked 102nd) with a score of 21-18, 21-17 in the Quarterfinals. These two consecutive victories helped the Vietnamese player enter the Semifinals of the Uganda International Badminton Tournament 2024. Duc Phat's next opponent at the Uganda International 2024 is Juwon Opeyori (Nigerian, ranked 123rd in the world). This match will take place on February 24. Uganda International 2024 is Duc Phat's third tournament this year. Previously, he reached the quarterfinals of the Iran International 2024 and the second round of the Azerbaijan International 2024. The Uganda International Badminton Tournament 2024 took place at the Lugogo Gymnasium in Kampala (Uganda) from February 21-25. The tournament has a total prize of 15,000 USD and is classified as a level 3 tournament. Uganda International 2024 attracted 305 players from 49 countries. Duc Phat is the only player from Vietnam to register to participate. He is accumulating points to win a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
