Sir Niels Lan Doky is considered one of the pioneers of modern European jazz, having performed at prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall (USA), Royal Albert Hall (UK) and Blue Note (Tokyo).
With over 20 albums under his belt, he has been critically acclaimed for his fusion of Nordic lyricism and the power of American jazz. In 2010, he was knighted by the Queen of Denmark for his exceptional contributions to international music .
Returning to Vietnam after 20 years, Niels Lan Doky brings a journey that is both artistic and meaningful in finding the roots. He and his trio will lead the audience through many levels of contemporary jazz from vibrant to romantic and especially in collaboration with leading Vietnamese artists such as: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Ha Tran and saxophonist Quyen Thien Dac.
According to director Pham Hoang Nam, the schedules of international artists are very busy, so arranging a performance in Vietnam "is already precious". He said that the concert is not only a musical journey but also tells the life story of Niels Lan Doky, from a boy who left his homeland to a foreign land to a world-class artist.

People's Artist Thanh Lam once collaborated with Niels Lan Doky on the album Asian Sessions . The reunion after 20 years made her emotional. In this music night, Thanh Lam revealed that she will have a performance with Ha Tran.
Thanh Lam said: "This time, when I get to perform again with him with songs that I sang more than 20 years ago, I am very excited and looking forward to the concert. Singing jazz means singing in a very wide range, full of improvisation. During that concert, when we are free to improvise with Ha Tran, we will definitely do the most natural things."

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Thanh Lam said she collaborated with Niels Lan Doky when she was only 30 years old, had just given birth to her third child and received an invitation to perform in Denmark.
"This time, my performance is songs recorded on his CD. Working with director Pham Hoang Nam, I see that he is very perfectionist and meticulous, and so am I. When perfectionists work together, the program will definitely be more meticulous. With such a talented group of people, I myself also have pressure, so I have to try harder to make everything perfect," she shared.
Sharing more about the duet with diva Ha Tran, Thanh Lam said that both of them were nervous before the show. "We will choose a really good song to sing together. Solo singing is easy, but duet singing is very difficult to get along well. With a jazz orchestra, choosing a good song that touches people's hearts is not simple," she said.
Jazz concert - IMMERSED will take place on November 15 in Ho Chi Minh City. Besides Sir Niels Lan Doky, his two colleagues Felix Pastorius and Jonas Johansen are also big names in the international jazz world.
Felix is the son of bass legend Jaco Pastorius, known for his creative, emotional style. Jonas Johansen is a veteran drummer, having appeared on over 200 albums and collaborated with many of the world's top artists.
