In December, composer Tran Tien will participate in the concert "Come Back Here, Four Sky Birds" - a program that for the first time honors four great composers of Vietnamese music : Van Cao, Pham Duy, Trinh Cong Son, and Tran Tien.
The program will take place at 8 PM on December 28th at the National Convention Center in Hanoi , featuring renowned artists including Hong Nhung, Bang Kieu, Ha Tran, Tan Minh, Doan Trang, Pham Thu Ha, Le Hieu, Tuan Anh, along with talented young singers such as Lam Bao Ngoc, Thanh Thuy...
During the concert, in addition to the singers, composer Tran Tien himself will perform songs by three people he calls "seniors".
"Three of my predecessors have already ascended to heaven, and as for me, heaven hasn't called me yet, but I don't know if I'll have the strength to 'fly' when the show takes place. But honestly, I'm very happy to be one of the representatives of the Vietnamese music generation participating in this program," he shared humorously.

Composer Tran Tien recounted that he and the three other deceased composers were like brothers and colleagues, always loving and respecting each other in music and in life.
Composer Trịnh Công Sơn was the one who extended a helping hand to Trần Tiến when he wandered from North to South, advising him to write songs instead of focusing on instrumental music. Composer Phạm Duy was also someone Trần Tiến greatly admired. The two had the opportunity to chat during a performance trip abroad.
The late composer Văn Cao was the one who advised Trần Tiến to pursue songwriting, recognizing his unique style. Trần Tiến fondly remembers the wedding gift Văn Cao gave him: a handwritten collection of valuable experiences from the renowned French composer. The gift, brought to him late at night, deeply moved him.

According to the organizers, the program's name was inspired by a line from the song "Vietnamese Birds" (by Van Cao). The four composers all possessed vast musical legacies, both in scale and scope, and led lives filled with ups and downs, becoming an important part of Vietnamese music and art in general.
In 1999, composer Pham Duy proposed a series of touring concerts in Europe with Trinh Cong Son and Tran Tien. However, the composers' health problems prevented this plan from materializing. With "Come Back Here, Four Winged Birds of the Sky," the composers were able to reunite, alongside the late composer Van Cao.
The concert will feature the most representative works of four composers, retold in a fresh and creative musical language while still preserving the spirit and depth of the original pieces.
