On the morning of September 24, the National Economics University held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2023 - 2024 with nearly 7,000 new students of the 65th course.
Among nearly 7,000 new students this year, there are 17 valedictorians including: 11 candidates with the highest scores of 8 admission groups based on high school graduation exam scores and 6 candidates with the top scores of 6 combined admission methods.
Speaking to congratulate the new students, Professor Pham Hong Chuong, Principal of the school, shared that when you first step into the university door, you will certainly feel nervous and excited about the new things in the future. He saw in you innocence, a little shyness mixed with joy and pride in becoming students of a famous university.
Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong spoke on the morning of September 24.
According to Professor Chuong, over the past 68 years, the National Economics University has always pursued theeducational philosophy of “creating a smart path for each person to become the best version of themselves, bringing value to the community”. Therefore, the school has always been a place to nurture passion, encourage students to be creative and develop their potential, and assert themselves in the domestic and international community.
He sympathized with the new students of K65 who, throughout their high school years, witnessed many great events in the world and had to go through difficult years of studying under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, these difficulties did not discourage them. As evidenced today, they achieved excellent academic results, worthy of standing in the lecture hall of the National Economics University.
Generation Z students are citizens of the digital age, a time when modern technology is present and changing the world such as: Cloud computing; Smart applications, automation; Internet of Things (IoT); Artificial Intelligence AI, Blockchain Technology or Virtual Reality Technology... Therefore, the Principal hopes that students are sophisticated and intelligent enough to gradually master themselves, broaden their perspectives to cultivate knowledge.
The principal advised the new students to study and research diligently with the aspirations of young people on the threshold of the ocean of knowledge, dreams and actions with the mindset of a global citizen. "Remember, you study to develop yourself and to serve the country, not for ambitions or the flashiness of degrees," Mr. Chuong emphasized.
National Economics University honored 17 valedictorians earlier this year.
He also did not forget to advise that life is a journey in which knowledge is the launching pad, and the skills that students acquire at university are the driving force to reach the heights of success.
You should consider knowledge and understanding as the premise for enlightenment, opening up new horizons for future development. Mastering knowledge is the unlimited power for good, creative ideas and even bold ideas that others have not thought of.
The principal hopes that in the upcoming 4-year journey, the new students will conquer their ambitions and dreams. "You need to know that sacrifices and challenges are inevitable, but those challenges and sacrifices will bring you joy and interesting experiences, helping you gain more useful and rich knowledge," he said.
