On the afternoon of October 30, the Hanoi Club's leadership officially assigned Mr. Dinh The Nam, Director of the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center, to the position of interim coach of the purple team.
Since parting ways with coach Bozidar Bandovic, Hanoi FC has not yet found a suitable person to take on the role of captain. All training and competition plans in the recent past have been handed over to assistant Le Duc Tuan and his colleagues.
However, after 2 matches under the assistant coach born in 1982, the capital team was not really successful when they both suffered defeats, 1-2 against Wuhan Three Towns in the AFC Champions League and most recently 3-5 against Hai Phong Club in the V-League.
Coach Dinh The Nam
In order to improve expertise in a positive direction and prepare for the next fierce journey, the board of directors agreed to change personnel in the coaching role, assigning Mr. Dinh The Nam to the temporary role.
The coach, born in 1965, worked at the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center from 2011 to 2013 as deputy director. Starting from last July, he officially returned to the Hanoi youth football team after 10 years.
During his football career, Coach Dinh The Nam played as a midfielder, played for many famous teams such as Air Defense - Air Force, The Cong and Hai Phong Police, and was called up to the Vietnam national team from 1989 to 1993.
Ending his career to move to training, the coach from Hai Phong left his mark by bringing U.16 Vietnam to the quarterfinals of the 2016 U.16 Asian Championship, most recently with U.23 Vietnam winning the 2022 U.23 Southeast Asian Championship in Cambodia.
Sharing his thoughts, Mr. Dinh The Nam said: "I was quite surprised to receive the decision from the board of directors. This is both an opportunity and a challenge for me. I will try my best with the team in the match against Hanoi Police Club on Friday.
I have been working here since the very first days, so it will not be difficult for me to get used to the work. The quality of the staff are all national players at all levels, my job is to connect you all more smoothly.
In general, difficulties are surrounding us, but the team's tradition of overcoming difficulties has been demonstrated many times before, this is not the first time. I believe the team will soon find its way back to victory."
