Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the list of players for the Vietnam national team

On the afternoon of May 27, Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the list of 27 players to join the Vietnamese team to prepare for the final two matches of the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

Since arriving in Vietnam to work on May 5, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his assistants have actively attended domestic tournaments to select players for the Vietnam national team. In addition, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the National Coaching Council have also provided maximum support to the Korean coach in completing his assistant team. After more than 3 weeks of preparation, Coach Kim Sang Sik has selected 27 players who fit the philosophy he will build for the Vietnam national team.

Compared to his predecessor Philippe Troussier, Mr. Kim Sang Sik's list does not have any new faces. Some players are absent from the list this time due to injuries and lack of performance, such as: Que Ngoc Hai, Doan Van Hau, Cong Phuong... The teams with many players joining the national team include: Hanoi Club with 7 players, The Cong - Viettel Club with 6 players, Cong An Hanoi Club with 5 players and Nam Dinh Club with 4 players.

Goalkeepers (4): Nguyen Filip (Hanoi Police), Dang Van Lam (Binh Dinh), Nguyen Dinh Trieu (Hai Phong), Quan Van Chuan (Hanoi). Defenders (9): Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Duc Chien, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Phan Tuan Tai (The Cong - Viettel ), Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Ho Tan Tai, Vu Van Thanh (Hanoi Police), Do Duy Manh, Pham Xuan Manh (Hanoi). Midfielders (8): Nguyen Hoang Duc, Khuat Van Khang (The Cong - Viettel), Nguyen Tuan Anh, To Van Vu (Nam Dinh), Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Van Truong (Hanoi), Nguyen Thai Son (Thanh Hoa), Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi Police). The Vietnamese team will gather from June 1 to prepare for the home match against the Philippines on June 6 and the away match against Iraq on June 11 in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.
