Coach Roland is proud of his students' performance. |
Speaking after the 1-1 draw with UAE in the final match of the Asian group stage, coach Roland said: "Accumulating experience at this age is very important. Everyone should hold their heads high. We still have a long way to go, still have to strive for better things."
Talking about the U17 Vietnam team's unbeaten streak against three of the continent's top opponents, Coach Roland expressed his pride: "That was the effort of the whole team. From the first day of the tournament until now, my players have learned many useful things. In the final match, even though they did not win, it was still a good experience for the players."
"The whole team has shown professional progress. They deserve better. After this tournament, the players will be more eager to prove themselves. They are the future of Vietnamese football," the Brazilian coach added.
Vietnam U17 ended the 2025 Asian Cup with an undefeated record. Duy Khang and his teammates drew with Australia and Japan. In the match against UAE, Vietnam U17 took the lead but let their opponents equalize in the 88th minute. This result was not enough to help the boys in red win one of the two leading positions in Group B, thereby missing out on a historic World Cup ticket.
