The company requested the People's Committees of communes and wards including Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan, Ham Liem, Ham Thang, and Phu Thuy to notify people along the flood discharge route of Song Quao lake and river mouth to proactively prepare safety prevention plans.

In recent days, the upstream area of Song Quao Lake has had rain. As of September 30, the water level of Song Quao Lake was at 87.89 m and is continuing to rise rapidly with the water flow into the lake reaching 30.19 m 3 /s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming days, there will continue to be rain in the province. To maintain the flood prevention capacity of the reservoir, ensure the safety of the project, and reduce flooding in the downstream area when heavy rain occurs, the Company will operate the buffer water discharge through the spillway of Song Quao reservoir. The expected regulation time will start from 7:00 a.m. on October 2; the discharge will be regulated with a flow rate of 2-10 m3 /s. After that, depending on the amount of water coming to the reservoir and the downstream situation, the regulated flow rate will be increased to 20-150 m3 /s.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 30, Da Nhim – Ham Thuan – Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company also announced an increase in the regulated discharge through Don Duong spillway to maintain flood prevention capacity. Specifically, the Company increased the regulated discharge flow through Don Duong spillway from 25m 3 /s to 75m 3 /s at 6:00 p.m. on September 30 and continued to adjust depending on the rainfall developments in the reservoir basin.
