Miss Dieu Hoa said her husband wore a Kurta - a traditional Indian costume for men, while she wore a sari - a traditional Indian costume for women on important occasions. Both outfits are red and were custom-made in India by artisans with elaborate embellishments. The sari Dieu Hoa wore this year weighed about 10 kg, with gold thread embroidery and sparkling Swarovski stones.

According to Dieu Hoa, Diwali, like Lunar New Year in Vietnam, is the most important holiday for Indians. Dieu Hoa's eldest daughter, Dieu My, is working in England, while her second daughter, Dieu Ly, is about to graduate from McGill University in Canada. Her youngest son, Hoang Phi, is working in the US. With all their children grown up, Dieu Hoa and her husband have more time for their private lives.

Nguyen Dieu Hoa was born in 1969 in Hanoi and was crowned Miss Vietnam in 1990 when she was a senior student in the Russian Language Department at Hanoi University of Foreign Languages. She can speak 5 languages: English, Russian, Indian, Thai, and French. In 2008, she participated in the Mrs. World contest and entered the top 5.

Dieu Hoa is admired by many people for her beauty and education, and also for her happy marriage and successful children. Dieu Hoa married Indian businessman Maneesh Dane in 1993, and together they have built a family and business in Vietnam since then.
