Miss Universe 2025 continuously faces turmoil, 5 contestants announce to drop out of the competition

(Dan Tri) - The Miss Universe 2025 pageant is going through a turbulent season. As of November 9, 5 representatives have announced their withdrawal from the contest.

The Miss Universe Iceland organization has just confirmed that Helena O'Connor cannot continue participating due to health and personal reasons.

“Miss Universe Iceland 2025 Helena O'Connor has been ill for the past few days. Although she is recovering, she has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand,” the statement said.

The organization thanked the Miss Universe 2025 Organizing Committee for their sympathy and expressed gratitude to fans who have always supported Helena.

Helena O'Connor (21 years old) has been in Thailand since early November but had to be hospitalized due to poor health. On her personal page, the beauty shared: "I was unwell and had to be hospitalized by ambulance. I am extremely grateful for the kindness and support I received from everyone in Thailand."

Helena O'Connor's withdrawal is regrettable because she was considered one of the potential candidates in the European region.

The beauty has a well-proportioned body, a delicate face and extensive experience in beauty contests. Previously, she was in the top 25 of Miss Supranational 2024.

Helena is the fifth contestant to decide to leave the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, following representatives from Nigeria, Cameroon, Germany and Persia, all for personal reasons. Thus, the pageant now has 123 contestants left to compete.

Miss Universe 2025 takes place in Thailand from November 2 to November 21. This year's contest attracts a large number of contestants from all over the world , but is also entangled in noise in the organization, especially the conflicts between Mr. Nawat (the host in Thailand) and the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), causing public discussion.

Despite the controversy, the contestants are still actively participating in side activities. Currently, the beauties are traveling to Phuket (Thailand) to attend the next events. On the evening of November 8, the contestants performed evening gowns in the introduction to the audience and guests.

The organizers have also started the People's Choice voting, the winner will get a ticket straight to the top 30 finalists. Vietnam's representative - Huong Giang - is currently in the top 3 of the vote.

On the evening of November 8, Huong Giang shared on her personal page that she is not calling on the audience to vote for her in the Favorite Contestant category at this time. The beauty hopes that fans will pay attention and support to the people of the Central region who are suffering damage due to floods.

Voting for Most Popular Contestant will last until November 19.

Despite the noise and turmoil at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, Huong Giang is trying hard and performing quite well. She is also the only transgender contestant in this year's competition and has received attention from the international media.

Huong Giang was announced as Vietnam’s representative at Miss Universe 2025 in September. According to the Miss Universe Vietnam Organization, she is a testament to the resilience and talent of modern Vietnamese women. Many beauty sites predict that Huong Giang is likely to make it into the top 20.

The Miss Universe 2025 final is scheduled to take place at Impact Arena in Bangkok (Thailand) on November 21.
