On November 2, a controversy broke out between the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) and MUT surrounding the program "Top 10 special dinner and conversation with Queen Victoria and Mr. Nawat".
The voting activity was launched on MUT's official Facebook page, attracting hundreds of thousands of votes. After nearly 20 hours, Huong Giang - Vietnam's representative - temporarily held the 2nd position, just behind the Philippines' representative.

However, shortly after, MUO issued a statement denying the validity of the vote, asserting that this was an “illegal activity, not within the framework of the Miss Universe 2025 contest”, and at the same time requested MUT to cancel the results. This move made Mr. Nawat - Chairman of MUT - publicly indignant.
By noon on November 6, MUT issued a final statement: “Miss Grand International (MGI PLC), the host of the 74th Miss Universe pageant, officially announced the cancellation of the “Special Dinner and Talk” program. Sponsors expressed concern and inconvenience when this activity was not recognized by MUO, so we decided to stop carrying it out as planned.”
MUT also apologized to the audience and fans, and thanked them for their support and enthusiastic votes for the contestants. Mr. Nawat pledged to continue to bring “a positive environment and a successful season”.

Over the past two days, the conflict between MUO and Mr. Nawat has continued to escalate. After the voting incident, the sash ceremony on the afternoon of November 4 was also interrupted due to a conflict between Mr. Nawat and some contestants, including the representative of Mexico and the reigning Miss Universe.
Mr. Nawat is said to have confronted contestants who refused to pose for a sponsor, causing many to leave midway through. The Mexican representative said he was “disrespected,” but the contestants still attended the evening party that same day.
MUO criticized and Mr. Nawat burst into tears
Since November 4, MUO has continuously issued statements criticizing Mr. Nawat’s “disrespectful” behavior toward contestants, while he accused MUO of cooperating with an online casino as a sponsor. The war of words has seriously affected the image of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant.

On November 5, MUO President Raúl Rocha publicly criticized Mr. Nawat for “unreasonable demands and inappropriate behavior,” claiming that he was deliberately trying to attract attention.
Raúl Rocha also accused Mr. Nawat of “degrading and violating the dignity of women,” and announced that he would consider suspending his role in activities related to the contest.
MUO also announced that it would send its senior management team, including Mario Bucaro and Ronald Day, to Thailand to oversee the organization. On the same day, Mr. Nawat apologized and admitted that he had been hot-tempered, hoping that “both sides could cooperate peacefully.”
However, at the Miss Universe 2025 celebration event on the evening of November 5, he burst into tears and shared that he was "betrayed and hurt".
“I am human, I also feel pain and fatigue. I feel stabbed in the back and forced to apologize, while they continue to hurt me,” Mr. Nawat said in tears.

The President of Miss Grand International Organization - Nawat - also affirmed that MUO cannot limit its management rights, because MGI is the official host of the Miss Universe 2025 contest. He said he is "protecting the dignity of the contestants from being exploited for illegal activities".
The contest is still going on in Thailand.
Miss Universe 2025 takes place from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand, with 122 contestants participating. Vietnam's representative is Nguyen Huong Giang, the first transgender beauty of Vietnam to participate in this major beauty arena.

The contestants have now completed filming, meeting and receiving their sashes. In the coming days, they will enter important competitions such as national costume, swimsuit, evening gown and private interviews, to select the top 30, top 12, top 5 and Miss Universe 2025.
After a series of tensions and scandals, Miss Universe 2025 is still receiving special attention from international media and global fans. Vietnam's representative - the only transgender contestant in this year's season - is predicted by specialized websites to be in the top 20.
On the evening of November 5, Huong Giang and the other Miss Universe 2025 beauties attended a special event, officially introducing themselves to the media and fans. Wearing a graceful white dress with a tight waist, Huong Giang received many compliments from domestic audiences for her sophistication, professionalism and persistent efforts from the beginning of the contest.
