
Born in 1976 in Hanoi to a family where both maternal grandfathers were former deputy ministers, Ha Kieu Anh was a pampered young lady. However, her life changed when her parents divorced when she was 3 years old.
Her mother brought Ha Kieu Anh to Saigon to start a business, but all her money was stolen as soon as she arrived, forcing her and her daughter to start from scratch. Since childhood, she has worked many jobs: making incense, doing small business, weaving wool, and weaving lanterns. Being crowned at the age of 16 was not only a personal turning point, but also Ha Kieu Anh's way of repaying her mother, becoming a symbol of rising from poverty.

Born in 2004 in Dak Lak , Yen Nhi grew up in a poor working-class family. Her father was a bricklayer, her mother sold lottery tickets for more than 20 years to raise 3 siblings. Since childhood, she was not ashamed of her situation but considered it a motivation. She worked hard to go to university and participate in beauty contests.

Ngoc Chau's father passed away when she was only 5 years old, leaving her mother to raise 3 children alone in poverty. Her mother worked as a manual laborer, the family lived in a cramped rented room, she worked hard from an early age, worked as a model and saved money for her education. Crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 at the age of 28, Ngoc Chau became the breadwinner of the family. Her mother passed away in 2024 in a traffic accident, Ngoc Chau became the one to take care of the family.

Born in 1992 in Dak Lak, belonging to the Ede ethnic group, H'hen Nie grew up in a poor farming family. Her parents worked in the fields and picked coffee. Since childhood, she had to herd cows, pick coffee, and live in a village lacking electricity and water. At the age of 13, H'hen Nie refused the custom of getting married early to pursue her studies. She found a way to make a living by working as a maid in Ho Chi Minh City, saving every penny with a 10,000 VND meal. Crowned at the age of 25, H'hen Nie became the first Miss Vietnam to be from an ethnic minority.

Born in 2000 in Long An, Doan Thien An is known as "the poorest beauty queen in Vietnam". Her mother died of cancer when she was 17, leaving her father sick and her family in poverty. Doan Thien An became her father's support, living in a cramped rented room in Thu Duc City.
Before being crowned, she worked many jobs with a salary of only 40,000 VND/hour. Doan Thien An has never been on a plane even though she is 22 years old, the flight to Indonesia to attend Miss Grand International 2022 is the first time.

Born in 2001 in Thanh Hoa, Do Thi Ha grew up in a rural area. Her family worked in agriculture, and from a young age she often helped her parents harvest rice and plow the fields, living in conditions lacking modern conveniences. Her poor family forced Do Thi Ha to save money while studying at university. Winning the crown at the age of 19 was an opportunity for Do Thi Ha to improve her family's life. After the crown, she represented Vietnam at Miss World.

Born in 1991 in Bac Lieu, Dang Thu Thao spent her childhood in a troubled family when her father failed in business, was in debt, and suffered from severe diabetes. Dang Thu Thao's family had to sell their house for treatment, falling into poverty. From the age of 18, she worked many jobs: serving at restaurants, serving coffee, and doing makeup to pay for her tuition. Dang Thu Thao lived extremely frugally with cheap meals and a room for 600,000 VND/month. Crowned at the age of 21, she was called "fairy sister" and quickly became famous, becoming an attractive face in the entertainment industry.
