After more than 1 year of planting, it has brought about efficiency, the orchids have grown well, with a survival rate of over 95%, and have been highly appreciated by customers for the quality of the flowers with beautiful colors.
Mr. Tran Van Man - manager of the Phalaenopsis orchid growing facility in Dan Tri village, Thuan Hoa commune, Ham Thuan Bac district shared: Each orchid is designed to be grown in a separate substrate; arranged in rows on shelves. The shelves are made to be about 1m high from the ground, the width of the shelves is about 2.5m. At this time, the 3,200m2 greenhouse area in Dan Tri village, Thuan Hoa commune contains hundreds of rows of Phalaenopsis orchid shelves arranged close together. On average, each tissue-cultured Phalaenopsis orchid brought into the greenhouse for 4 months is sold by Thao Moc orchid garden in Da Lat city to other places for 50,000 VND/plant; for orchids grown for 8 months to flower, they are sold for 150,000 VND/plant. In the past 4 months, the Phalaenopsis orchid garden in Dan Hiep village, Thuan Hoa commune has maintained a regular monthly sale of 20,000 Phalaenopsis orchid plants that are 4 months old, earning around 1 billion VND, and continues to import 20,000 young orchid plants for planting.
The economic efficiency of the Phalaenopsis orchid growing model in greenhouses with high technology application in Dan Hiep village, opens up a new direction for the Party Committee, government and people of Thuan Hoa commune, Ham Thuan Bac district in converting suitable crops, helping farmers increase income per unit of production area, effectively promoting the potential of land and labor resources in the locality.
