
According to information from the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, floods and storms caused by storm No. 3 have affected 113 houses. Of these, 10 houses were threatened by landslides, 32 houses were deeply submerged in floodwaters, and 71 houses had their roofs blown off at a rate of less than 30% to 70%. Localities with major damage include Hanh Phuc, Tan Hop, Luong Thinh, Nghia Tam, Phinh Ho and Pung Luong communes, Chieng Ken, Khanh Yen.
To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, communes and wards have deployed to review dangerous areas to urgently evacuate 425 households from areas at high risk of landslides and flash floods.

In addition to damage to houses, heavy rains and floods have caused flooding and landslides in many places on National Highways 4D, 2D, 32C and Provincial Highways 153, 154, 155, 156. Specifically, National Highway 32C was flooded in one location (Km92+350), National Highway 2D had landslides in two locations (Km95+200 at and Km95+400); National Highway 4D had 21 locations of slope landslides, road surface subsidence, and fallen trees. Provincial Highways 153, 154, 155, 156, 156B, 157, 159... had landslides and flooding in 143 locations.
In addition, the flood also completely collapsed the concrete bridge in Re 1 village, Nghia Tam commune; broke a telecommunication pole in Phong Du Thuong commune; and knocked down 20m of the fence of Hung Thinh Primary and Secondary School.


Regarding damage in agricultural production, the flood inundated and buried more than 88 hectares of rice, corn and vegetables, and swept away 1 buffalo. Storms caused 4.5 hectares of commercial grapefruit trees to lose fruit; and broke 1,120 Bodhi trees and 1,200 cinnamon trees (Chieng Ken commune).
Total initial estimated damage is more than 4 billion VND.

In particular, in Chieng Ken commune, the storm knocked down two ancient sui trees (Vietnam Heritage Trees recognized in 2017) and one green lim tree, causing damage to some items of Ken temple.
Immediately after the natural disaster, local authorities urgently mobilized forces to overcome the consequences and support people to stabilize their lives.
