Complete 700 billion traffic intersection in 2024

After the completion of the investment project to build the road connecting Nam Cau Binh intersection to the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5, the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5 in An Dong commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city has become a five-way intersection with many intersections.

This area used to have a high traffic density, but after becoming a five-way intersection, the traffic situation became even more complicated. There were frequent traffic jams during rush hours as well as many potential traffic safety risks.

Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City proposed and received approval from the Prime Minister to use local budget sources to invest in building a grade-separated traffic intersection at the Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5 intersection.

The 700 billion VND level crossing project in An Dong commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city is being implemented.

The investment project to build a grade-separated traffic intersection at the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5 (grade-separated traffic intersection project) has a total investment capital of 689 billion VND from the local budget approved by the People's Committee of Hai Phong City in Decision No. 2112 dated July 1, 2022.

The Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Hai Phong Traffic Construction Management Board) was assigned by the Hai Phong City People's Committee to represent the investor. On January 7, 2023, the Hai Phong City People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project, with the expected implementation period from February 2023 to July 2024.

According to Mr. Do Tuan Anh, Director of Hai Phong Traffic Works Management Board, the level-separated intersection project includes many items, in which the main item is to build an overpass in the direction of National Highway 5 - Nguyen Van Linh Street with a length of nearly 300 m.

The traffic junction under the overpass is a roundabout with a diameter of 60m connecting to the following routes: the road to the South of Binh Bridge, Ton Duc Thang Street, the road connecting Ring Road 2 (according to the planning) and Mang Nuoc Street.

To facilitate the implementation of the Different Level Interchange Project, the Hai Phong City People's Committee requested the An Duong District Government to focus on site clearance. In particular, focusing on mobilizing and propagating households whose land is recovered for the project to soon agree on the compensation and support plan, receive money and hand over the clean site to the construction unit.

Hai Phong City People's Committee also requested relevant departments, branches, and local authorities to coordinate with investors and contractors to organize reasonable traffic flow, arrange forces, and install traffic signs to guide vehicles through the construction site to ensure traffic safety.

The contractor urgently constructs to ensure the completion of the level-separated traffic intersection project in An Dong commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city in July 2024.

However, due to the large volume of work, construction in difficult conditions such as narrow space, construction while ensuring traffic, not yet handed over the entire site..., by the end of August 2023, the contractor, the joint venture of Khang Nguyen Infrastructure Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Cau 14 Joint Stock Company - Phuc Loc Group Joint Stock Company, had completed less than 20% of the work volume.

According to information from the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Management Board, it is expected that the contractor will complete 70% of the work by the end of 2023. To ensure progress, the contractor has arranged human resources, machinery, and construction equipment to work day and night with 3 shifts per day.

To help remove difficulties in site clearance, in Notice No. 237/TB-UBND, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, requested An Duong District People's Committee to speed up the approval of compensation and resettlement support plans to hand over the entire site for the project in September 2023.

It is expected that by July 2024, the Level Differential Interchange Project in An Dong Commune, An Duong District, Hai Phong City will be completed and put into use. Thereby, it will contribute to reducing traffic congestion, traffic safety, meeting the increasing travel needs of people, and transporting passengers and goods.

In addition, the project is expected to contribute to completing Hai Phong's transportation system as well as promoting socio -economic development, bringing An Duong from a district administrative unit to a district by 2025 .
