Therefore, in addition to attending speech impediment correction class every time my child makes a mistake, I write it down on paper, practice spelling with my child, read it over and over again until he reads it correctly. Thanks to my perseverance and effort in practicing, my child no longer has a speech impediment.
Teacher Nguyen Kieu Trang - Head of Yen Bai Young Talent Nurturing Club shared: Lisping can be completely cured. Usually, children often lisping, such as confusing the initial consonants, tones or only saying rhymes. Most children are not aware of the harmful effects of lisping, so parents need to closely monitor to correct and promptly treat lisping in children. Avoid disadvantages, shyness in communication, lack of confidence in themselves, affecting the future of children.
At the club, with the form of one-on-one tutoring, each student is individually assessed for each sound error, mouth shape, pronunciation, breathing, etc. to build a training plan suitable for each child. Children's lisping is not only due to the child themselves, but also sometimes due to adults not paying attention, pronouncing incorrectly, or knowing that the child is speaking incorrectly but not helping to correct it immediately, so correcting lisping for children cannot be rushed but requires perseverance and setting clear goals.
For children who like to play and sing, parents can teach them pronunciation through songs, read stories, read poems expressively or expand their vocabulary through activities such as arranging letters, combining letters, spelling... With these activities, parents not only help children absorb the correct way of reading and speaking but also help them practice their communication skills, thinking, and effective language expression, and cure lisping and stuttering. Ms. Kieu Trang confided: There are students who have to spend dozens of sessions just to practice the mouth shape and correct points of a sound or rhyme. In addition to the lisp correction class, the club also opens a communication skills class, masters the voice and trains MC kids - advanced presentation skills to help children express their words clearly, speak confidently, not be shy, not be afraid to speak. Especially in July, the Yen Bai Young Talent Nurturing Club left a strong impression when 10 students participated in the 2025 National MC Kids Competition.
As a result, 5 excellent students entered the semi-finals, of which 3 won the prestigious golden ticket.
