At the end of April, there was some information that Hoang Duc would stay at The Cong Viettel after the two sides reached an agreement.
Hoang Duc's number one priority is to stay at Viettel The Cong Club. The 26-year-old midfielder wants to extend his contract and the army team has also made an offer. However, according to Thanh Nien Newspaper's source, the two sides have not reached a final agreement to continue their relationship.
Thus, after the current contract expires at the end of this year, Hoang Duc will leave to find a new destination.

After 6 years, the midfielder from Hai Duong played 135 matches, scoring 19 goals for his home team. Hoang Duc and The Cong Viettel won the 2020 V-League championship, finished second in the 2023 National Cup, and won the 2023 V-League bronze medal.
In the colors of the Vietnamese national team at all levels, Hoang Duc played 39 matches, scoring 4 goals in all competitions. He won the Vietnamese Golden Ball twice.
