Many international schools in Ho Chi Minh City announced tuition increases from 9 to 53 million VND, the highest school charges 924 million VND a year, not including meals, transportation, and field trips.
Ho Chi Minh City currently has more than 20 schools teaching general education programs from the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, commonly known as international schools. According to this program, students completing grade 12 must take a graduation exam to receive one of the following certificates: the English A-level, the International Baccalaureate (IB), or the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, Canada (OSSD).
This year, tuition fees at many international schools in Ho Chi Minh City increased by 9-53 million VND compared to last year. For schools that have announced enrollment, preschool tuition fees average 124-457 million VND per year; primary school 151-684 million VND; secondary school 210-924 million VND.
Parents can pay the entire year's tuition to get a 5-10% discount or divide it into 2-4 installments.

The most expensive is the tuition fee at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHC). Students in grades 11 and 12 pay nearly VND924 million in tuition, an increase of VND53 million compared to last year. Tuition fees from grades 1 to 10 range from VND624-809 million, an increase of VND35-46 million compared to last year.
Next is Saigon South International School, grade 12 has the highest tuition fee at 790 million VND, an increase of more than 37 million VND. The school's preschool and primary school tuition fees also increased by an average of about 30 million VND compared to 2022.
Tuition fees for preschool and primary school at the American International School Vietnam (AISVN) have decreased by about 50-60 million VND compared to last year, while secondary school fees remain stable.

Depending on the school, the above tuition fees may or may not include: textbooks, stationery, uniforms, extracurricular activities. If these fees are not included in the tuition fee, parents must pay an additional 10-20 million VND per year. If the child is provided with meals and transportation, parents must pay an additional 15-40 million VND and 20-35 million VND per year, respectively.
In addition, parents must also pay an application fee of about 1-5 million VND, a deposit fee of 20-50 million VND, and an entrance exam fee of 1-5 million VND. These fees are usually non-refundable.
By the end of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City has 2,355 schools, of which nearly 1,350 are public schools, charging tuition fees of about 900,000-2.7 million VND per year, depending on the level of study and the area of residence (primary school is free of tuition). Tuition fees for non-public schools range from 20-270 million VND.
