On June 30, the Can Gio Commune People's Committee headquarters (reused from the old Can Gio District People's Committee headquarters) was renovated and ready to operate the new government model from July 1. Mr. Hong Van Thien, Head of the Front Work Committee of Giong Ao Ward, was moved: "As a local resident, I strongly agree with the implementation of the 2-level local government model. I expect the new government model to be closer to the people. What the people expect is a streamlined but effective apparatus that serves better and better."
Living in Can Thanh town (old) since 1984, Mr. Huynh Cong Danh shared his joy when coming to do real estate procedures at the One-stop Department of the Public Administration Service Center of the People's Committee of the new Can Gio commune. For him, the model transformation really brings clear benefits to the people. The special point is that many authorities have been decentralized, giving the right to directly handle them to the commune-level authorities. This not only creates convenience for the people, but also helps the commune-level authorities promote their role and responsibility in serving the people.
Meanwhile, in Con Dao special zone, people are very excited to welcome the special event when it becomes a special zone of the new Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Tran Thi Nga (residential area No. 7, Con Dao special zone) expressed her hope that when Con Dao becomes the only special zone of Ho Chi Minh City, the "pearl island" will receive more investment, especially in terms of transportation connecting the mainland and the island. Ms. Nga also hopes that the new government, when it comes into operation, will thoroughly address the concerns and aspirations of the people.
Mr. Cao Vu Linh (residential area 7, Con Dao special zone) is proud to become a citizen of Ho Chi Minh City. According to him, Con Dao is currently developing green - clean - beautiful and with the great potential of Ho Chi Minh City, he hopes that this place will develop even more strongly, and people's lives will be further improved.
Serve the people best
Welcoming the historic event of the country and becoming a citizen of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tam (Le Loi Street, Vung Tau Ward) shared that Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old) has advantages in oil and gas, seaports and island tourism. However, in the field of health, this place has not really met the needs of medical examination and treatment of the people, especially for cases requiring technical expertise and high technology. Therefore, Mr. Tam hopes that after the merger into the new Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau will be arranged with a team of experienced and highly specialized doctors and modern facilities so that people do not have to flock to hospitals in the center of Ho Chi Minh City for medical examination and treatment as before. Mr. Tam also hopes that the traffic connection between the center of Ho Chi Minh City and wards and communes needs to be accelerated to promote socio -economic development.
On June 30, in a solemn and warm atmosphere, the ceremony to announce the Resolution and Decision to establish Hiep Binh Ward and key leaders took place. Hiep Binh Ward has an area of 16.01km² and a population of 215,638 people. This is the 3rd most populous ward in the country, the 2nd in the new Ho Chi Minh City - after Rach Gia Ward ( An Giang ) and Di An Ward (HCMC). The ward Party Committee has 131 grassroots Party organizations and 3,204 Party members. At the Hiep Binh Ward Public Administration Service Center, all renovation work has been carefully implemented and completed.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Binh Ward, Vo Thanh Binh, said that equipment and machinery from the one-stop-shop departments of the three wards had been mobilized appropriately to best serve the people. "Cadres and civil servants have been divided into groups and organized many rehearsals to ensure there is no confusion and everything operates smoothly and efficiently," said Mr. Binh.
Coming to the Hiep Binh Ward Public Administration Service Center to complete marriage registration procedures, Mr. Do Xuan Ky (born in 1989) and Ms. Mai Thi Ha (born in 1987) were extremely satisfied with the public reception space and the enthusiastic service attitude of the officials and civil servants.
“Although the name Hiep Binh ward is unfamiliar at first, it is a change for development so I am very excited. I believe in positive changes, believe that the ward officials and civil servants will always be close, friendly and serve the people well, making the ward develop strongly,” Mr. Ky shared.
Since July 1, Ms. Chau Kim Phung (Chinese ethnic group) has been the Head of the Front Committee of Ward 25, Cho Lon Ward. With a neighborhood with nearly 40% Chinese ethnic group, Ms. Phung hopes that the government will continue to create favorable conditions for the Chinese people to develop the economy, especially traditional industries; support the Chinese people in difficult circumstances. Most importantly, the government will listen and accompany the Chinese people so that they always feel that they are an inseparable part of this city.
Mr. Vo Huu Thang, Chairman of Can Gio Commune People's Committee, shared that Can Gio Commune People's Committee has basically completed the preparation work, such as the reception area, the Commune's Public Administration Service Center have been fully equipped with means and equipment to be ready to officially put the new apparatus into operation on July 1. The commune also arranged cadres and civil servants to ensure the apparatus operates stably and continuously, without interruption in receiving and handling requests from people and businesses.
