This morning (June 6), students in Ho Chi Minh City took the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in literature, the first subject in the exam with a 120-minute test time.
At the examination council of Hoa Lu Secondary School, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, most students arrived at the examination site early in the morning. Just after 6am, the examination rooms were already crowded with students waiting for the time to enter the room.

However, there are also many candidates who only arrive at the exam hall close to the exam time. Fearing that they will be late, many students rush from the school gate into the hall as fast as they can.
When encountering a candidate rushing to "run like a rocket", Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuong, Deputy Head of the Examination Council of Hoa Lu Secondary School and also the Vice Principal of this school, reminded the students: "You walk normally, do not run. Take a deep breath."
Hearing the reminder, many students who were about to take the exam immediately stopped running, became calmer and walked slowly towards the exam room.

Mr. Phuong said that in psychological exams, candidates will be very stressed and easily lose their composure close to the time, which can affect the results of the exam. Therefore, if we rush them more at this time, they will panic more easily, so what we need to do is help them calm down to best handle all situations.
At this exam council, Xuan Hieu, a student at Hiep Phu Secondary School, said that he woke up at 5am today to continue reviewing his lessons. Although literature is his most confident subject, Hieu's overall mood during the exam was still nervous and worried.
Hieu said he registered his first choice at Duong Van Thi High School. He was worried that he would fail his first choice, so he kept reminding himself to do his test well and carefully.

At this testing site, there was a case of a male student from Hoa Lu Secondary School who suffered burns and was assigned a supervisor to help him copy the test for all three subjects. Ms. Phan Thi Phuong, a history teacher at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, was the one who helped the candidate copy the test.
This special exam room still has 2 invigilators, students will read the test to the assistant who will copy the test under the supervision of a recording device.
According to the exam schedule of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City for this exam, the exam bag will be opened at 7:30. The invigilator will distribute the exam papers at 7:55 and the candidates will start taking the exam at 8:00. The Literature exam has a time limit of 120 minutes, students will officially finish the exam at 10:00.

With more than 76,000 candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam this year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training arranged 142 exam councils spread across districts and Thu Duc City.
The total quota for public 10th grade admission this year in Ho Chi Minh City is more than 70,000 students, the admission rate is about 92%. If we calculate the number of candidates taking the exam and the quota, there will only be about 6,000 candidates failing this exam, the lowest number in Ho Chi Minh City in many years.
