Aiming to expand learning opportunities for students in the Northern mountainous region, VOVedu is implementing a special enrollment program in 2025 with a focus on high-tech engineering majors. Within the framework of the program, a VOVedu delegation led by Principal Dr. Nguyen Van Hung visited and connected with enrollment cooperation in Lao Cai province.
Here, the delegation coordinated with the Board of Directors of Nhi Van Media Joint Stock Company to organize extensive exchanges with representatives of Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union and educational institutions including: Hoang Quoc Viet High School (Au Lau Ward, Lao Cai), Lao Cai Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities and Lao Cai Provincial Continuing Education Center. The program aims to enhance cooperation in enrollment, career counseling and introduce study and employment opportunities for students after graduating from high school.

Dr. Nguyen Van Hung shared information about the special admission program with the Board of Directors of Hoang Quoc Viet High School.
Special admissions for high-tech engineering majors
This year's special enrollment program is implemented by VOVedu with the orientation of enhancing the training of high-quality human resources in the field of engineering and technology, meeting the great demand for human resources from industrial parks and technology enterprises at home and abroad.
The three key priority sectors in the program include: Information Technology; Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology; Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology. Students studying these sectors will enjoy many special support policies, including: full scholarships worth up to 120 million VND, free dormitory, car pick-up for practice, internship and job connection after graduation.
In particular, the program is designed in the direction of "learning while doing", connecting early internships at businesses right from the first year of study, helping students shorten the gap between training and the labor market.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: “We want to bring VOVedu's regular college training program closer to students in mountainous areas, expanding quality learning opportunities and sustainable career guidance for them. In addition to professional expertise, the school's majors are always linked to practice and labor market needs."

Regional Linkage - Strategic Direction in Admissions
This program is a concrete step in VOVedu's regional linkage expansion strategy, aiming to create conditions for students in the northern mountainous provinces to access high-quality vocational education.
During the working session, the VOVedu delegation listened to many dedicated and practical contributions from leaders of local educational institutions - those who directly accompany students in the career orientation process.
Ms. Nguyen Thi To Mai, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Province's Continuing Education Center, said that VOVedu's special enrollment program has "touched the needs" of continuing education students - those who are in great need of highly applicable training models and vocational training opportunities linked to employment.
“For students of the GDTX system, practical applied engineering majors like those of VOVedu are very suitable. We hope to have more direct consultation sessions and specific orientation for final year students,” Ms. Mai emphasized.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Van Lich, Principal of Hoang Quoc Viet High School (Lao Cai) acknowledged that the trend of choosing vocational training instead of university is becoming more and more obvious, especially among students who have early career orientation. "Many students want to learn vocational training early to go to work. We are ready to cooperate with the school in enrollment consulting activities, sharing timely information to students," said Mr. Lich.
From the perspective of a special school, Mr. Tran Thanh Ha, Vice Principal of Lao Cai Province Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, expressed his expectations for the training model of "learning while doing" that VOVedu is implementing: "If there are models of learning while doing, connected with businesses like VOVedu, ethnic minority students will have more opportunities to start a business in their homeland," said Mr. Ha.
Comrade Dong Manh Linh, Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union, also affirmed the positive role of the program in supporting young people in the highlands in career orientation and entrepreneurship: "We highly appreciate the practicality and scalability of this program. We hope that VOVedu will continue to expand its links with the locality and organize more extensive career counseling activities in the future."
