The Meaning of Positive Emotions in Learning

Many scientific studies have shown that positive emotions play a decisive role in the process of acquiring and remembering knowledge. According to Dr. Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, a famous neuroscientist and educator from the University of Southern California, children learn better when emotions are activated in parallel with cognitive activities.

However, in Vietnam, many children are still studying in traditional classrooms that are theoretical, lack interaction, lack emotions, making learning boring and restrictive. In addition, children also have to face social pressure: the "peer pressure" achievement race, family expectations, school bullying, and apathy in the surrounding environment. Emotional education and EQ development (emotional intelligence quotient) for children have become an urgent need - not only for children to study effectively but also for children to live happily and healthily.

Children learn faster and more effectively in a fun learning environment.

According to experts, children with high EQ not only study well but also have the ability to adapt and be creative... - important skills for success in the era of globalization. However, EQ development cannot be taught through theory alone. The most effective way is to let children live and experience in a positive learning environment, where emotional skills are "activated" naturally through interactive activities.

Learning English is no exception. English is a popular international language, but it should not become a burden for children in their early life with the pressure of tests, scores, and certificates in a short time. Learning English can be integrated with EQ practice to become a fun journey, where children can explore the world through language, through games, through happy and exciting emotions.

Learning English is a happy journey at VUS

Designed with the goal of not only learning English but also learning how to live happily, the Super Kids program of the Vietnam-USA Society English Language System (VUS) with the message "a hundred percent excitement, a hundred hours of fun learning" for students aged 6-11 led by 100% foreign teachers with international standard English teaching certificates has received positive feedback from parents and students.

Ms. NT - parent of a student in the Super Kids class shared: “After each class, my child excitedly shared with me about the activities in class with teachers and friends and immediately applied the vocabulary he learned. At that time, I knew my child was really happy to come to class, learning and playing effectively at the same time.”

Classes at VUS bring children excitement to explore languages

Unlike theoretical classroom models, SuperKids is based on the Discovery Learning method - active learning through discovery, where children are inspired to explore, reason and thereby naturally and deeply remember knowledge.

Not only that, the SuperKids program also equips children with Happy Life Skills to improve their EQ. Happy Life Skills is designed according to UNESCO's global citizenship education framework, aiming at the harmonious development of children. With this course, the VUS team of experts applies the Think - Feel - Act model to help children think flexibly, understand emotions and act effectively.

For example, seemingly simple lessons such as saying thank you, apologizing at the right time, admitting mistakes, listening with understanding, sharing your feelings, etc. are integrated into the lessons through fun, interactive and practical activities. Children learn to understand themselves, identify emotions, handle social situations and build positive relationships - core elements that not only help children learn effectively but also develop their personality and adaptability in the future.

SuperKids program provides comprehensive English skills for children

In addition to happy life skills, SuperKids also equips children with Practical Language Skills, not only mastering theory, but also mastering English through using English flexibly and confidently in daily communication, storytelling, and presentations; and Effective Learning Skills, training children to form critical thinking, improve their ability to memorize and actively absorb knowledge. From there, children develop comprehensively from knowledge, skills to emotions and are ready to face challenges, seize all opportunities in the future.

With the Super Kids program, learning English is a journey where VUS and parents nurture children's aspirations to reach far and true happiness from within, so that children can confidently step out to see the big world.
