Thai Nguyen hosts the 3rd Singing Contest for People with Disabilities in the Northern Region

On the evening of May 12, at the Viet Bac Folk Song and Dance Theater, the Vietnam Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphans in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the 3rd Singing Contest for Disabled People in 2025 in the Northern region with the theme Singing from the Heart. Attending the contest were comrade Vu Duy Hoang, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; representatives of a number of departments, branches and units in the province and local delegations participating in the contest.

The contest had over 160 contestants from 12 delegations of provinces and cities: Bac Giang , Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Hai Phong.

The Drum Dance performance depicting the heroic spirit of the homeland and the heroic spirit of Vietnam was performed by the hearing-impaired children of the Center for the Protection of Orphans and Disabled Children in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province.

The groups brought 36 performances in many genres of singing, dancing, solo, and instrumental music, bringing many emotions and interesting experiences to the judges and the audience. The competition will end and award prizes on the morning of May 13. The Organizing Committee will award Gold and Silver prizes and select the groups that won First, Second, and Third prizes in the Northern region to participate in the Final Competition in June 2025.

The contest is organized to contribute to encouraging people with disabilities to confidently rise up in life, implement the Law on People with Disabilities, the Program to support people with disabilities in the period 2021-2023. This is an opportunity for people with disabilities in provinces and cities to learn, exchange and demonstrate their abilities in cultural and artistic activities, affirming their own values and integrating more and more deeply into all areas of life.
